Board Type:
System 1000 vitreous enamel boards are fixed boards made of a frameless construction. They are available in white writing boards, as well as green or black chalkboards. These boards are supplied with continuous aluminum chalk/pen rails, as well as all fixing brackets required for the installation.
Writing Surface: Vitreous Enamel
Vitreous enamel is a surface coating made when glass and steel are fused at high temperatures and form a 3-layered material. i.e. an inner steel layer, middle enamel layer, and outer glass layer. Due to the extreme surface hardness of vitreous enamel, this surface is non-porous and does not allow inks, acids, or alkalis to penetrate the surface.
In a writing surface application, these properties provide:
- The ability to use whiteboard markers, permanent markers, and even spray paints that can easily be cleaned off without damaging the surface coating.
- The ability to clean the boards with any chemical on the market without damaging the surface coating.
- The steel inner steel layer allows magnets to adhere to the surface.
- Our ability to offer a 25 year conditional guarantee on the writing surface.
Permanent screening of lines or squares is available at an extra cost.
